I like Mike’s sharing the fight he had with his brother Pat over the true validity of Miles as great musician. The filters we have on our perception and appreciation of others are dominated so much by what we think we need to value. I imagine now that as a jazz educator, Mike you must be so aware of being open to possibility – thanks for the honesty! Thanks also for the insight into Desmond/Brubeck – I had never thought of that.
