Acclaimed trumpeter Randy Brecker has been shaping the sound of jazz, r&b and rock for more than four decades. His trumpet and flugelhorn performances have graced hundreds of albums by a wide range of artists from James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen and Parliament-Funkadelic to Frank Sinatra, Steely Dan, David Sanborn, Jaco Pastorius, Horace Silver and Frank Zappa. Randy was hugely influenced by Miles Davis and on this podcast episode, he shares his impressions and passion for the famed trumpeter’s profound music and artistry.

    Thanks Randy Brecker. You’ve got it right on Miles and technique. Maybe technique meets feel and it teeters to one and then the other any given tune, night, recording. Nice take, Randy.
